Description:
The holiday season kicks off with the Festival of Trees auction, which benefits the United Way of White County. Local businesses donate their fully decorated trees and wreaths to the event. Guests place bids on beautifully decorated Christmas trees and wreaths. The trees and wreaths are awarded to the guest with the highest offer. Not only do these decorations make great souvenirs, but they offer an opportunity to help make a difference in the community. We plan to enter our own tree into this as well. The trees are awarded to the highest bidders at 2 PM on December 8. Admission to the event is free, although there is a $5 fee for parking at the lodge in Unicoi State Park.
