If you are visiting one of out cabins for rent in Helen, Georgia this holiday season, we have a few ideas for you to enjoy your stay with us. Christmas is a great time of year to visit the mountains of Helen.
Festival of the Trees (November 19th – December 9th)
The holiday season kicks off with the Festival of Trees auction, which benefits the United Way of White County. Guests place bids on beautifully decorated Christmas trees and wreaths. The trees and wreaths are awarded to the guest with the highest offer. Not only do these decorations make great souvenirs, but they offer an opportunity to help make a difference in the community. We plan to enter our own tree into this as well.
Annual Lighting of the Village (November 24th)
Mr. and Mrs. Claus come to visit Helen, Georgia for the popular Lighting of the Village! The vibrant Christmas lights and multitude of colors are a wonderful sight to behold. After the lighting there will be live musical performances for you to enjoy. If you bring the kids along, they can sit on Santa’s lap and reveal what they want for Christmas!
Annual Christmas in the Mountains Festival (December 2nd)
This event is located in Downtown Cleveland. An Old-Fashioned Christmas in the Mountains in Downtown Cleveland. Christmas carols, hot cocoa and cookies, kids activities, arts & crafts, food booths & more! Parade begins at 7PM.
Helen, GA Christmas Parade (December 9th)
Santa and his helpers march down the streets of Helen spreading holiday cheer. Come enjoy it with your family. Fun for all ages.
Christmas Tree Toss at the North Georgia Zoo (December 26th – 29th)
Christmas trees are used after Christmas day is over. Rather than throwing them out, bring your old tree to the zoo and let the animals enjoy them.
